The Verkhovna Rada proposes to recognize Belarus as temporarily occupied by Russia and remove it from international organizations such as the UN and the IMF. The relevant project was submitted by People’s Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko together with other colleagues .

“Together with colleagues, I submitted a relevant resolution to the Verkhovna Rada. Lukashenko helps Putin kill our citizens, destroy our homes and infrastructure. Russia has already carried out the actual Anschluss of Belarus, and Lukashenko is only fulfilling the whims of the Russian dictator. It is necessary to put maximum pressure on this illegal regime!” wrote Goncharenko on Telegram.
Thus, according to the MP, the draft says:
- appeal to the international community with a request to recognize the territory of Belarus as temporarily occupied by Russia;
- depriving the Lukashenko government of international legal personality;
- termination of Belarus’ participation in international organizations (UN, IMF, etc.);
- Synchronize sanctions against Russia and Belarus as an occupied territory and eliminate the possibility of Russia circumventing sanctions through Belarus and using this country as an offshore zone.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that there are frequent cases of conflicts between the Russian and Belarusian military against the background of nationality and the audacious attitude of Russians to Belarusians.
