Advice on how to act in the event of a blackout was given at the Center for Strategic Communications .

So, in case the lights are turned off, people are advised:
- Unplug electrical appliances to avoid damage due to voltage drops.
- Do not use gas stoves for heating. There is a danger of carbon monoxide poisoning.
- If there is an elevator in the house, make sure that no one is stuck in it.
- Visit your elderly neighbors and find out if they need help.
- Follow the official reports of the authorities or the State Emergency Service. If the mobile network does not work, find the battery-powered radio.
- If you use a generator, install it outside the room and away from windows.
It is also advised to have at home in advance:
- battery-powered radio and flashlights
- Stock of matches, candles and dry alcohol
- Charged power bank
- weekly supply of drinking water and canned food or freeze-dried food
- first aid kit, including personal medicines for at least a week.
