Currently, the Ukrainian military-industrial complex faces two main challenges: the establishment of equipment repair and the development of a drone system. This was announced at a briefing by Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksii Reznikov .
Details
“The first challenge for our military-industrial complex is to set up a system for repairing and maintaining complex systems. And these are not only multiple launch rocket systems, but also armored vehicles, mortars, and small arms. Therefore, today we are building a three-level system of restoration and repair,” Reznikov said.
According to the minister, the first level is the simplest repair. It should be held in military units, in units on the battlefield. To do this, they must be provided with the necessary spare parts, equipment, engineering technical documents.
The second level involves the repair of medium complexity at Ukrainian enterprises that will carry out work in cooperation with the command of the logistics forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The third level is a complex repair of equipment and electronics, which will be carried out outside Ukraine, possibly at enterprises in Poland, Slovakia or the Czech Republic.
The second challenge, according to Reznikov, is the development of a drone system. We are talking not only about air, but also about those that move under water and on the ground.
“This is the future of modern wars on earth. Today we are developing a system of unmanned drones, as well as counter-warfare tools against enemy drones, in order to shoot them down. This is a challenge for our Ukrainian producers,” the minister added.
