Resignations in the top leadership of the Russian army may indicate that the Kremlin is trying to absolve itself of responsibility for failures in the war against Ukraine.
Details
According to intelligence officers, on November 3, Major General Alexander Linkov was appointed interim acting commander of the troops of the Central Military District of Russia. He replaced Alexander Lapin, who was allegedly dismissed from office in late October 2022.
If the information is confirmed, the British Ministry of Defense noted, it will be another release of the top Russian military command since the beginning of a full-scale invasion. This year, the commanders of the eastern, southern and western military districts of the Russian Federation were replaced, intelligence officers recalled.

“These dismissals are a model of blaming senior Russian military commanders for failures in achieving Russian goals on the battlefield. This is probably an attempt to isolate and divert the blame from the Russian top leadership inside the country,” the message says.
Recall
On November 5, British intelligence reported that the newly mobilized Russians most likely had minimal or no training.
