Citation
“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has terminated the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion in relation to taxes on income and property,” the message says.
Details
As noted, the abolition of the validity of this agreement will accelerate the curtailment of economic and financial ties with Belarus, namely:
• will not allow replenishment of the country’s budget by providing Ukraine with preferential tax conditions for residents of Belarus operating in Ukraine. After the termination of the agreement, the total tax rate of 15% established by the Tax Code will be applied to all incomes of residents of Belarus received from sources in Ukraine, instead of the preferential rate established by the agreement – 10%;
• will not allow the loss of the budget of Ukraine due to the transfer of tax paid in Belarus by residents of Ukraine;
• will exempt Ukraine from its obligations to exchange information with Belarus on tax issues.
Recall
