While the great war continues and the enemy is actively hitting infrastructure, blackouts, both planned and emergency, will continue. It should be expected that the constant “blackouts” will last until the end of winter.

“My forecast is very simple: by the end of the autumn-winter period, there will be a 100% shutdown, but I hope that the schedules will be gradually more lenient and there will be fewer emergency outages, closer to spring. But, again, as long as this war continues and the enemy does not reckon with the laws of war and hits civilian infrastructure until then, there will be shutdown schedules, whether planned or emergency,” Omelchenko said.

“It is not possible to quickly completely replace all damaged equipment,” Omelchenko said.
The expert also commented on the recent strikes on Ukrainian gas pollution on November 17. He says that such attacks will not cause critical problems, because we have prepared in advance.
“Yes, strikes were struck at the eastern regions, where the largest natural gas production in Ukraine. The level of damage is unknown. However, unlike energy supply, there will not be such critical problems with gas supply. We have a sufficient amount of natural gas reserves in underground storage facilities and gas fields, which should be enough by the beginning of spring,” Volodymyr Omelchenko said.
The expert called on Ukrainians to help power engineers cope with interruptions. The most important thing is to monitor the heat in the batteries. If the dwelling does not have heating for more than a day, it is necessary to notify the responsible authorities about this.
“In this situation, it is incredibly important to preserve nerves and health, and first of all – to believe in our victory!” – concluded the director of energy programs.
