Specialists of Ukroboronprom have developed a “pencil” for demining.

“Specialists of one of the enterprises of Ukroboronprom have created a prototype product for burning metal (MPM) SF-1, outwardly similar to a pencil. Thanks to its exothermic powder mixture, it effectively burns the metal casings of explosive objects, for example, ammunition. This causes the burning of the explosive substance. Such a pencil can be used during demining of territories,” the message reads.
Details
As noted, the developers are already working on the technology of remote use of the “pencil” with the help of drones, which should improve the quality of demining and save people’s lives.
Ukroboronprom added that the “pencil” development company is an operator of mine countermeasures in Ukraine and has a certificate that gives the right to carry out demining and other operations with explosive objects.
