“He is very dependent on the people of Russia and wants to stay alive, so I don’t think he’s going to use nuclear weapons,” Zelensky said during the New York Times DealBook summit.
“Whether he’s going to use nuclear weapons or not doesn’t depend on what we’re discussing here. He can use nuclear weapons in other territories, we should not be afraid of it, I think,” Zelenskyy said, speaking virtually at the summit.
“What we should be afraid of is that if Putin takes full advantage and we give him territory, he will feel it and understand that he remains unpunished. We must return it to its place,” the president said.

“I do not believe that he will use these weapons,” Zelensky told the German newspaper Bild, referring to nuclear weapons. “I don’t believe the world will allow him to use these weapons.”
