Ambassador of Ukraine to the Vatican Andriy Yurash believes that the cyberattack on the Vatican’s websites is a Russian response to the latest statements of Pope Francis .

“Terrorists got today the websites of the Vatican city-state: many online pages of various structures of the Roman Curia have become inaccessible! Russian hackers once again demonstrate the real face of Russian policy directly identified by the PACE as terrorist: a Russian response to Pope Francis’ recent important statements,” Yurash wrote on Twitter.

Vatican sites on Wednesday, November 30, could have been the target of a cyberattack that resulted in them being unavailable for several hours.
Before that, Pope Francissaid that Chechens and Buryats fighting on Russia’s side against Ukraine were “among the most brutal” militaries.
The Pope also compared Russia’s war against Ukraine to the Genocide of the 1930s, when Soviet dictator Stalin caused famine in Ukraine.
