During the week, the Russian occupiers shelled the positions of Ukrainian troops and civilian infrastructure in the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions 39 times. This was announced during a briefing by Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Gromov .

“During the week, the aggressor’s troops carried out 39 attacks on the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure in the border areas of Chernihiv and Sumy regions. Of these, 6 settlements of Chernihiv region and 13 of Sumy region,” Gromov said.
The General Staff expects that the enemy will continue to maintain a military presence in the border areas in order to prevent the transfer of Ukrainian troops to areas of active hostilities.
“The enemy will continue rocket and artillery shelling of settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation, it is possible that it will carry out armed provocations in violation of the state border of Ukraine. But Russia’s priority remains to maintain positions in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as the land corridor to the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea,” Gromov added.
