Details
“The Kremlin authorities continue to try to damage the reputation of Ukrainian defenders due to the alleged mistreatment of prisoners of war. From time to time, fake videos or directed videos appear about the alleged mistreatment of Ukrainians with prisoners of war,” Malyar said.
She noted that those Russians who were captured in Ukrainian are being held in proper conditions in accordance with international law.
“They are fully accessed by representatives of international organizations and the content fully complies with all norms and international standards. Unfortunately, we do not have a mirror attitude towards our prisoners of war on the part of the Russian Federation. We record the facts of violations by the Russian Federation and will do everything to ensure that Russia bears responsibility for its actions in the legal field,” Malyar said.
Recall
Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said that in the Luhansk region, the Russian military simulated the surrender in order to destroy the Ukrainian military. This is how the Commissioner for Human Rights commented on fragments of videos that Russians began to distribute, accusing the Ukrainian military of “the gratuitous destruction of the military of the Russian Armed Forces.”
Proceedings have been initiated on the fact of treachery of the Russian occupiers, who in the Luhansk region simulated the surrender and opened fire on the Ukrainian military.
