Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said he would continue to oppose the European Union’s plan to provide Ukraine with 18 billion euros in assistance in 2023 .
“The question is how to help Ukraine. One of the proposals is to use the budgets of the EU member states to take new loans together and use these funds to provide Ukraine. We are not supporters of this, because we do not want the EU to become a community of debtor states,” he said in an interview with Hungarian state radio.

Orbán proposed that each of the 27 member states allocate funds from its budget to help Ukraine on the basis of bilateral agreements. “We will not accept another plan, we will not agree to it, and without us it will not be implemented,” he added.
