The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada announced that Canada is imposing additional sanctions against Iran – in particular, against Iranian companies related to the development of Shahed drones and the transfer of UAVs to Russia .

Sanctions are imposed against an additional 4 Iranian individuals and 5 legal entities “for their role in the regime’s gross and systematic violations of human rights and actions that continue to threaten international peace and security.”
Thus, the list in particular includes:
- Safiran Airport Services, an Iranian cargo and commercial airline that coordinated Russian military flights between Iran and Russia, through which the Iranian regime handed over Iranian-made strike UAVs to Russia;
- Baharestan Kish Company, a subsidiary of the IRGC Cooperative Foundation, has entered into agreements with the Basij resistance forces and the IRGC to provide research services in the technology sector, including the development of components of the Shahed series UAVs.

Iran first admitted supplying Russia with drones in early November. Russia used drones to attack Ukrainian energy infrastructure and civilian facilities.
In November, Canada had already imposed sanctions on Iran targeting companies it accuses of supplying Russia with drones.
