The postal addresses of German citizens began to receive letters allegedly on behalf of the Consulate General of Ukraine in Düsseldorf with a proposal to join a foreign legion in Ukraine for a monetary reward. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said that the relevant letters were a forgery .

“These letters are forgery. The consular office did not send any such messages Ukrainian. The consuls have already contacted the German police to investigate. We consider the sending of fake letters as part of the enemy’s disinformation campaign, which aims to discredit Ukrainian diplomacy, undermine support for Ukraine from Germany and its citizens,” he wrote on Facebook.

Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said that suspicious packages had already been sent to 31 embassies and consulates of Ukraine in 15 countries.
