Lviv today said goodbye to the Hero of Ukraine, dissident, member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group Yuri Shukhevych .

At 11:00 a.m., the farewell and funeral ceremony began at the Garrison Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul (11 Teatralna Street). Therefore, the funeral procession went to the Lychakiv cemetery. Yuri Shukhevych will be buried in the Field of Honorable Burials No. 67.
Recall that Yuri Shukhevych passed away to eternity on November 22 at the 90th year of life.
By the Decree of the President of Ukraine of 2006, Yuriy Shukhevych was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine for “civic courage, long-term socio-political and human rights activities in the name of Ukraine’s independence”. He was a people’s deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation and a member of the Ukrainian Helsinki Group, one of the authors of the law on decommunization.
