The power unit of the nuclear power plant, which was taken out of operation after enemy missile fire at the end of November, has been connected to the power system, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko said, as quoted by the press service of the ministry .

The Ministry of Energy indicates that another (ninth) thousand-thousandth power unit (with a capacity of 1,000 MW) of Energoatom, which was put out of operation on November 23 as a result of missile attacks, was connected to the power grid on December 13, 2022 at 1:09 a.m., after a renewal repair “At the moment, capacity recruitment is underway,” the department added.
They reminded that the Russians are blocking the power units of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP, which continues to consume more than 100 MW of electricity for its own needs from the energy system of Ukraine.

On November 23, the Russian army’s massive missile attack on Ukraine led to the temporary blackout of all nuclear power plants, most thermal and hydroelectric power plants. Electricity transmission facilities were also affected. There were power outages in many cities of Ukraine, including the capital. Power outages were emergency, without observing schedules.
