The number of Ukrainians who support the restoration of Ukraine’s nuclear status has increased to 53%. In 2019, there were 47%. This is evidenced by the results of a survey of the sociological group “Rating”.

In addition, Ukraine’s accession to NATO (61%) and Russia’s nuclear disarmament (50%) are measures to deter future attacks on Ukraine most often supported by respondents. Ukraine’s accession to the EU and guarantees from Western partners to provide weapons to Ukraine as deterrence methods are supported by 34% of respondents each. Nuclear weapons of Ukraine and financial assistance to our country were chosen by 17% each.
Interestingly, only 8% supported the signing of peace agreements with Russia as a method of deterring aggression. Residents of the east and south, as well as those who support the military conquest of only the territory controlled as of February 24, believe more in the effectiveness of the signing of peace agreements.

The survey was conducted on November 20-21, 2022 among the population of Ukraine aged 18 and over in all regions, except for the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and Donbas, as well as territories where there was no Ukrainian mobile communication at the time of the survey.
A total of 1000 respondents were interviewed. The survey method is telephone interviews using a computer, based on a random sample of mobile phone numbers. The margin of error with a confidence level of 0.95 does not exceed 3.1%.
