Lviv Defense Cluster (LOC) handed over a batch of specialized medical bulletproof vests to Okhmatdyt doctors. Bulletproof vests will be used to evacuate seriously ill children from frontline areas .

To date, LOC enterprises have already manufactured more than 500 medical bulletproof vests. The first of them are already protecting doctors of Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, and in the coming days they will also be transferred to Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. In total, in the near future it is planned to manufacture 3 thousand medical bulletproof vests. All of them will be transferred free of charge to doctors working in the war zone and frontline areas.
Anti-fragment bulletproof vests for doctors were developed by the Lviv Defense Cluster and the Kharkiv Plant of Personal Protective Equipment together with ambulance doctors. The products are fully certified and have passed all necessary tests.
According to statistics, the main type of threat to ambulance doctors working on the front line are fragments of glass, concrete, shells. Therefore, the medical bulletproof vest from the LoC is made reliable for protection, first of all, against these threats: it is characterized by anti-debris resistance of at least 500 meters per second, has 1 class of protection in accordance with Ukrainian standards (DSTU 8782: 2018), and also meets certain NATO standards.
The bulletproof vest is made of ultra-high molecular weight ballistic polyethylene, which makes it not only durable, but also quite light: it weighs only 4 kg. The vest also has comfortable pockets for equipment and bright medical service identification marks, the LOC added.
