The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Strategy for the Implementation of Gender Equality in the Education Sector by 2030.

“On December 20, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Strategy for the implementation of gender equality in the field of education until 2030 and approved the operational plan for its implementation for 2022-2024,” the message reads.
This Strategy determines the provision of equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the field of education. The purpose of the Strategy is also to prevent and counteract any discrimination of all participants in the educational process at all levels of education.
The document focuses on four strategic goals:
· ensuring equal rights, respect for human dignity and non-discrimination in regulatory and legal documents in the field of education as one of the key issues and priorities in the context of European integration;
· strengthening the role of educational institutions in understanding and conveying information about equality, respect for human dignity, non-discrimination, inclusiveness and combating violence, in particular based on gender;
· strengthening the competence and capabilities of the professional community of specialists in ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, expanding international cooperation in the direction of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men;
· ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, preventing and countering any discrimination, implementing inclusive practices in the field of education as a basis for overcoming the consequences of military actions and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
This Strategy is designed to overcome gender stereotypes in the formation of policy in the field of education.
“Ignoring differences in the conditions of structural inequality leads to invisible discrimination and the impossible solution to the problem of discriminated groups,” the message reads.
At the same time, ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men should contribute to providing all participants in the educational process in Ukraine with equal access to education, regardless of their gender or other characteristics.

At a time when European countries are implementing equality between people on Earth, the Taliban have banned Afghan women from studying in universities across the country. The country faces oppression and discrimination against women.
