GM launched an advertising campaign Everybody In introducing the update of the logo that has been used since the 1960s.
General Motors unveiled a new logo Friday that the company says symbolizes its shift toward electric vehicles.
The former logo – GM initials on a blue background and with an underscore – has been used with minor changes since 1964.
The initials of GM on the new logo are written in capital letters, not lowercase, and the whole logo differs from the former more rounded. The underscore, which remains only under the letter m, is a visual representation of Ultium battery technology, and the empty space between m and the underscore is a symbol of an electric plug, the company said in a press release, reports kommersant.
Simultaneously with the update of the logo, GM launched an advertising campaign Everybody In. It is designed to emphasize the benefits of Ultium and “accelerate the spread of electric vehicles” among new buyers.
