Metropolitan Epiphanius congratulated Christians of the Latin rite, as well as all Ukrainians who celebrate Christmas today with the birth of the Son of God.

“I warmly congratulate our brothers and sisters from other Local Orthodox Churches, Christians of the Latin rite, as well as all Ukrainians who celebrate the event of the Nativity of Christ today, on this bright and joyful holiday,” he wrote.

In his greeting, Epiphanius emphasizes that the Son of God became the Son of Man in order to make the children of men children of God. The Savior taught us to love one another and bring peace to earth.
“But, unfortunately, the sin of fratricide and misanthropy still continue to exist. On our land, due to the actions of the aggressor, blood is again shed. But the event of the Nativity of Christ assures us that light always conquers darkness. The begotten Son of God informed mankind that mortal life is a stepping stone to eternal life. And it helps us overcome life’s challenges and trials, seeking victory over evil, good and just peace,” he says.
It is for this, the Metropolitan emphasizes, that the special prayers of Christians today to the One who brings peace to people. He notes that the event of the Nativity of Christ unites people all over the world in these bright aspirations.
“May the Lord strengthen us all in good mental and bodily health and give us His gracious help for good deeds, for the victory over evil,” he concluded.
