The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine warns that in Ukraine fraudsters are using a new scheme of luring money, offering mobile users to “switch” them to another “tower” and thereby allegedly provide stable communication during power outages .
Details
Against the background of the existing problems with the communication of various mobile operators in Ukraine, fraudsters invented a new “scheme” for luring money.
Recently, as a result of a power outage, the mobile communication signal has weakened or completely disappeared, which criminals use. Fraudsters, pretending to be an employee of a mobile company, say that they will switch to another “tower” so that during outages you have a stable connection.
According to the CPD, fraudsters send a code to the subscriber’s phone, the numbers of which are asked to name, after which they gain access to mobile applications of banks, social networks, etc.
