Sriwijaya Air’s flight 182 lost contact with the Indonesian aviation authorities shortly after taking off from the capital, Jakarta.
FlightRadar24 data show that it was a Boeing 737-500 series aircraft.

The flight trajectory ends off the coast of the Java Sea north of Jakarta after losing altitude.
The plane took off from Sukarno-Hatta airport. The flight was headed to Pontianak in Indonesia.
On October 29, 2018, a plane performing a domestic flight from Jakarta to Pankalpinang, crashed into the Java Sea 13 minutes after departure. There were 189 people on board (eight crew members and 181 passengers), all of whom died.
