In Donetsk region, the occupying forces attacked both the front line and the relative rear during the night. According to preliminary information, there is destruction of residential buildings. According to the head of the region, the situation in Donetsk region this morning was as follows:
- On the Donetsk side , a house was damaged in Ostrivskyi of the Kurakhiv community, shelling of Maryinka and shelling of Avdiivka with the use of cluster shells were recorded – without casualties.
- On the Horlivskyi direction, 1 person died in Bakhmut. In the community, a house in Ivanovsky was damaged. 2 houses were damaged in Blagodatny of the Soledar community.
- In the Lysychansk direction , numerous shelling took place in Siversk, and 2 houses were damaged in Torsk in the Lymansk community – no casualties.

On January 3, the Russian army shelled Druzhkivka in Donetsk region. There, the ice arena came under fire.
On the night of January 3, Kramatorsk in Donetsk region was shelled by the Russian army .
