The next meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine, or, as it is called, a meeting in the “Ramstein” format, will take place on January 20. This was reported in the German Ministry of Defense .

German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht reportedly spoke with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
The parties discussed, among other things, “the current military situation in Ukraine and how to coordinate further military support” of Ukraine, in particular “regarding infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) and the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system, in preparation for the upcoming meeting of the contact group on defense of Ukraine on January 20, 2023.”

On November 16, Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin held the seventh meeting of defense ministers of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine, or, as it is called, a meeting in the “Ramstein” format, in a virtual format.

The Contact Group for the Defense of Ukraine (UCG) was formed after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As of June 15, 2022, it included defence ministers from more than 50 countries. It is headed by US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.
