Oleg Korikov, acting head of the State Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission, is convinced that attempts by the Russians to actually steal the ZNPP and the electricity it can produce will not lead to anything. He announced this during the briefing .

“As for whether it is possible to connect the ZANP to the power system of Russia, we have already seen these attempts, and these attempts were unsuccessful and ended in nothing. Therefore, we are convinced that all efforts of the occupiers to actually steal the ZNPP and the electricity it can produce will also lead to nothing,” Korikov said.
He reminded that international organizations, the IAEA and the UN, in their resolutions regarding the situation in Ukraine, have repeatedly stated that the ZANP is a Ukrainian nuclear power plant, Ukrainian property and the electricity it produces, or maybe Ukrainian.

In October 2022, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin signed a “decree” on the transfer of the Zaporizhia NPP to Russian control.
