The Secretary General reminded that NATO and EU member states have provided Ukraine with advanced weapons systems since the beginning of the war. He also welcomed the decision of the United States, Germany and France to provide Ukraine with BMP and other types of armored vehicles.
According to Stoltenberg, the next meeting of the contact group on the defense of Ukraine “Ramstein” will be held next week, at which international partners together with Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov will discuss what types of weapons the country needs and how allies can provide them.
In turn, Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation supported providing Ukraine with the amount and types of weapons that the country needed for its defense.
