The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will soon arrive in Ukraine to deploy monitoring missions at all nuclear power plants. Oleg Korikov, acting head of the State Atomic Energy Regulatory Commission, announced this during a briefing .

“Ukraine has invited IAEA monitoring missions to all other nuclear power plants, including the Chornobyl NPP. The IAEA agreed and in the near future these missions will be deployed at all NPPs,” Korikov said.
According to him, the main purpose of these missions is to monitor the state of safety of nuclear installations under conditions of military influence.
“Thus, the mission of the IAEA will come to us in the near future and will be more widely represented in Ukraine at all nuclear power plants,” Korikov added.

In December 2022, it was reported that the Director General of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, held another round of negotiations in Moscow regarding the creation of a demilitarized zone around the Zaporizhia NPP captured by the Russian occupiers.
