“As a result of the occupation, there was a significant degradation of nuclear and radiation safety at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The presence of Russian military personnel, weapons, explosives, and military equipment at the ZNPP has nothing to do with compliance with nuclear and radiation safety. In fact, the occupiers turned the ZNPP into a military base and a repair base,” Korikov said.
He noted that the military equipment of the occupiers is being repaired at the ZNPP.
“These actions to turn the ZNPP into a base are completely unacceptable,” he added.

the Russians admitted that they really keep military equipment at the ZNPP.
Petro Kotin, President of Energoatom NAEC, reported that Ukraine wants the UN to send peacekeepers to the Zaporizhia NPP even without an agreement with Russia on the creation of a safety zone around the plant.
