As previously reported by the British tabloid The Sun, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak “agrees to send tanks to Ukraine”, allegedly four Challenger 2 battle tanks, and eight more will allegedly appear in the near future.
Citing a Downing Street source, the tabloid reports that Sunak was supposed to inform Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi about this on Saturday.
This would make Britain the first Western power to supply Kiev with main battle tanks, a major step taken despite fears within NATO that the Russians could see it as a serious escalation of the war, Sky News said .
