All vehicles that travel on the roads of Ukraine are divided into categories. You can drive a vehicle with an appropriate driver’s license and from the legal age. However, from time to time the classification changes, adding new categories.
The thing is that the automotive industry does not stand still and produces more and more new vehicles. Some of their types do not fall under any of the existing groups. In this regard, the government has updated the Classification and Uniform Requirements for the Design and Technical Condition of Wheeled Vehicles. In particular, a new category has been introduced in Ukraine – L1e – L7e (motor vehicles). In addition, cars and buses were divided into classes M2 and M3.
“Today in Europe there are a lot of vehicles belonging to categories and subcategories that are absent in Ukrainian legislation and therefore cannot be imported into the country and used on public roads. This is especially true of the L category, where a large number of models have an electric motor and increased mobility, which is especially important for large cities. The decision made by the government updates the Ukrainian legal framework, bringing it closer to modern European standards, ”said Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krykliy.
