Alexander Lukashenko said he was ready to resume relations with Ukraine, despite the fact that Kiev, following the EU and the US, did not recognize the results of the Belarusian presidential elections.
“I do not hold any grudge against the President of Ukraine Volodya Zelensky. I understand him: I said something when I was young. But this does not mean that you should look at him all the time, understanding what is happening, and take offense at him or get angry, “Lukashenko said.
In his opinion, the unfriendly statements of Ukrainian officials regarding Minsk are explained by the difficult situation in which Ukraine is located.

“They (the Ukrainian authorities – approx.) Said that we have good relations, the Ukrainian people treat Belarusians very well, we treat them even better,” Lukashenko said, adding that economic cooperation between Belarus and Ukraine continues to develop.
“That is, we have not destroyed and are not destroying the basis. And even if something is needed somewhere for Russia and for Ukraine, we become intermediaries in the economy,” the President of Belarus said.
At the same time, Lukashenko believes that the initiative for the resumption of relations should be taken by the Ukrainian side, and in the event of a meeting with Zelensky, he would answer questions that he could ask him:
“I would answer, and maybe some kind of conversation would start,” he said.
