Austrian Minister of Labor, Family and Youth Christine Aschbacher resigned after she was accused of plagiarism in her dissertation.
Ashbakher defended her dissertation in 2020 at the Technical University of Bratislava (Slovakia).
Soon, independent expert Stefan Weber accused the minister of plagiarism. In particular, he talks about plagiarism in the fifth section of his scientific work. In turn, Christine Ashbacher denies all charges. But, since not only she, but also her family suffers from this conflict, she resigned from the post.
It is known that Ashbacher has been the Minister of Labor, Family and Youth of Austria since January 7, 2020.
On June 25, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed the rector of the Chernihiv National Technological University Sergei Shkarlet as acting minister of education and science.
On the same day, the People’s Deputies of the Golos faction opposed the appointment of Shkarlet due to the presence of plagiarism in his scientific works. The Verkhovna Rada even registered a bill prohibiting persons from holding positions in the government and in the civil service, whose dissertations were officially found to be plagiarized.
