Ukraine Gate- Kiev, March 4, 2024 – As of March 1, Russia has been excluded from the Danube Commission, fines have been imposed on it, and the member states of the Danube Commission no longer recognize their obligations towards Russia under the Belgrade Constituent Agreement. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba. , via his account on the Twitter platform (X).
Until February 29, Russia could have left the Commission of its own free will, but it did not do so, and for the first time in history, the Commission imposed a fine on Russia for not paying its contributions after it left the organization in March 2022.
Kuleba said: I am grateful to the Danube Committee, our partners in the Danube, and everyone who helped in making this historic decision. Dmytro Kuleba concluded that aggressors and terrorists have no place in any official international forums.
He emphasized that officially the Russian Federation no longer affects Danube logistics, but in reality Russian business on the Danube still exists.
