The reservoir supplies water to the Simferopol region
Kiev. Ukraine. Ukraine Gate – January 11, 2021 – Ukraine Pulse
In occupied Crimea, the Ayan Reservoir, which supplied fresh water to the inhabitants of Simferopol, dried up.
This was announced by an officer of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Anatoly Stefan on January 10 on his Facebook page.
According to Anatoly Stefan, the main reservoir of the peninsula has dried up completely. Confirming that his words were correct, the officer attached a video clip of the location of the tank, which was completely empty of water.
Stefan wrote on his Facebook page: “Occupied Crimea, the Ayan reservoir that supplies Simferopol with water has dried up. It is an original port with a taste of dry mouth”.
In turn, the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, Serhiy Kislitsia, stated that the resumption of the Dnieper water supply to the attached Crimea Peninsula could only be discussed if Russia officially addresses the Ukrainian authorities and recognizes itself as the occupying power.
