A written statement issued on Monday by the head of the press service of the State Department Morgan Ortegus stated that Michael Pompeo will make his last foreign trip as US Secretary of State to Belgium on January 13-14.
“Pompeo will travel to Brussels (Belgium) on January 13-14, 2021 to reaffirm a comprehensive and strong partnership between the United States and Belgium, as well as continued US support for NATO,” the diplomat said.

According to her, the head of American diplomacy will meet in Brussels with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, as well as with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Belgium Sophie Wilmes. During the talks, concluded Ortegus, Pompeo will emphasize the importance of the transatlantic partnership.
