Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will participate in the development and production of a new mode of transport for the city. We are talking about the so-called aircraft with the possibility of vertical takeoff and landing. According to the concern’s press service, the FCA has already reached a final agreement with Archer from California, which plans to show its first electric aircraft this year.

Looking at the only image published by FCA, the novelty will be a compact convertible with 6 rotary propeller motors, which in vertical takeoff will create lift, and during horizontal flight function as traction units.
The maximum speed of the aircraft will reach 240 km / h, and the range without recharging the batteries will be 100 km. Through cooperation with the FCA concern, Archer will gain access to the developed supply chain of the automaker, to inexpensive composite materials, as well as to technical and design solutions. To date, Archer and FCA have joined forces to develop the cabin elements of the device. According to preliminary information, serial production of the novelty is planned for 2023.
