In Brussels, more than 100 people were detained and six were injured in clashes between police and protesters in memory of 23-year-old Ibrahim B., who died about an hour after his arrest last weekend.
“… the police confirmed that as a result of several arrests, 112 people were detained, including 30 minors. Four court arrests were also made,” the statement said.
Five ambulances were called to the scene – one demonstrator and four other policemen were injured. It is noted that in total there were six wounded.

Police also had to escort King Philip’s car, which was passing among the demonstrators while the clashes continued. The passage of the royal car was recorded by the people present on the spot and posted on social networks.
“At around 16:00, tensions rose sharply and police, who were present in large numbers, began to disperse the crowd,” the statement said.
About 500 demonstrators gathered yesterday, January 13, near the northern police station in Brussels after the death of 23-year-old Ibrahim B., who died about an hour after his arrest last weekend.
Thus, according to the Brussels prosecutor’s office, the young man was arrested on Saturday, January 9, at about 19:00 local time after fleeing a test for coronavirus infection.
He was then detained and taken to a police station for questioning, but lost consciousness after arriving at the station.
The police present called an ambulance, which took Ibrahim B. to the hospital, where he died at 20:22.
