In 2020, 19 business entities of Lviv region received financial support from the state budget in the amount of UAH 26.2 million.
In particular: 14 business entities received funds in the amount of UAH 8.3 million for purchased planting material in the amount of about 1.5 million fruit and berry plantations. Also for the construction of wallpaper for perennial orchards on an area of 16.5 hectares and the installation of drip irrigation systems on an area of 90 hectares.
In addition, financial support in the amount of UAH 15.9 million was received by 5 farmers in the form of reimbursement of costs associated with the construction of 4 modern fruit storages with a total capacity of 4.3 thousand tons of fruit and berries and for the purchase of machinery and equipment for horticulture.
“182 business entities are engaged in horticulture in the Lviv region. During the last three years, agricultural enterprises of the region have planted more than 600 hectares of new fruit and berry crops, in 2020 another 168.2 hectares of new plantations have been planted. The construction of new storage facilities for fruit and berry products has been intensified,” adds Yuriy Buchko, Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration.
He stressed that in 2020, 4 facilities with a capacity of 4.3 thousand tons of fruit and berry storage were built and put into operation. In total, there are 14 fruit storages with a capacity of 12.5 thousand tons, including 11 storages with refrigeration equipment.
