The commander of the National Guard, General of the Army Daniel Hokanson stated that about 25,000 U.S. National Guard troops will be transferred to Washington to provide security for the inauguration of President-elect Joseph Biden.
“The Department of Defense has agreed to provide about 25,000 troops to support security during the inauguration of the president-elect,” Hokanson said.

The US Security Service will be primarily responsible for the security of the inauguration.
Joe Biden’s inauguration is scheduled for January 20.
