Mercedes-Benz has announced a worldwide recall of C-Class W205 models due to the increased risk of fire.
The company will affect 270 thousand cars produced in 2014/2018 with 4-cylinder M274 gasoline units.

Due to faulty diodes in the alternator rectifier, a short circuit can occur in the starter battery when the power plant is idling for a long time.
This could cause the generator to overheat and fire in the engine compartment.
Also, German Jeep dealers in early 2021 began checking the wiring of electronic steering locks (ESL) on 2,240 Wrangler JL cars.
