In 2020, Ukraine reduced imports of hard coal and anthracite (TNVED code 2701) by 19.6% (by 4 million 131.209 thousand tons) compared to 2019 – to 16 million 951.03 thousand tons.
According to the State Customs Service, coal was imported for $ 1 billion 690.541 million, which is 44.3% less than in 2019 ($ 3 billion 35.349 million).
Coal was received from the Russian Federation for $ 1 billion 43.233 million (share in imports 61.71%), the USA – for $ 480.319 million (28.41%), Kazakhstan – for $ 126.1 million (7.46%), other countries – for $ 40.888 million (2.42%).
Ukraine’s export of coal in 2020 amounted to 2,548 thousand tons for $ 0.229 million against 14.938 thousand tons for $ 0.724 million in 2019. Incl. to Poland – by $ 0.156 million, Hungary – by $ 0.038 million, Moldova – by $ 0.027 million, other countries – by 0.008 million.
In 2011 Ukraine imported coal and anthracite for $ 2 billion 760.897 million, and exported – for $ 775.109 million, 2012 – for $ 2 billion 637.028 million and $ 609.392 million, respectively, 2013 – for $ 1 billion 973.751 million and $ 737.009 million, 2014 – for $ 1 billion 773.195 million and $ 521.017 million, 2015 – by $ 1 billion 632.478 million and $ 53.651 million, 2016 – by $ 1 billion 467.091 million and $ 44.762 million, 2017 – by $ 2 billion 744.062 million and $ 105.494 million, 2018 – by $ 3 billion, 349 million and $ 8.649 million, 2019 – for $ 2 billion 816.12 million and $ 0.724 million.
