More than 21,000 people have died from complications of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine.
As of January 19, in the past 24hrs, the coronavirus in Ukraine was detected in 3939 people, 177 deaths were recorded, 15 052 patients recovered. 801 patients were hospitalized.
This was announced on Facebook by Health Minister Maxim Stepanov.
Among the new patients are 131 children and 238 medical workers.
During January 18, fewer new cases of infection were detected in Ukraine than cases of recovery.

The number of tests conducted in Ukraine remains low. During the period of January 18, 33,400 tests for COVID-19 were conducted in the country. From them by a PCR method – 18 734, by an ELISA method – 14 666.
Over the previous day, the most infected were recorded in Kyiv (637), as well as Odesa (453), Zaporizhia (449), Kharkiv (237) and Cherkasy (208) oblasts.
In total, 1,167,655 people fell ill during the pandemic in Ukraine, of whom 886,248 recovered and 21,046 died. 281,407 people remain active patients.
Coronavirus in Kyiv: statistics for January 19
In Kyiv, 637 patients with coronavirus infection were found last day, 16 people died. This was announced by Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko in his Telegram channel.
According to him, a total of 2,211 deaths from coronavirus have been recorded in the city during the pandemic period, and 123,634 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed to date.
Among the patients diagnosed last night: 361 women aged 18 to 94 years and 260 men aged 18 to 87 years, as well as 11 girls from 4 months to 16 years and 5 boys from 3 months to 15 years. In particular, 14 doctors fell ill.
39 people were hospitalized in the capital’s hospitals, others – in self-isolation, under the supervision of doctors.
“The highest number of cases was detected in Darnytskyi district – 135, in Dniprovskyi – 109 and in Desnianskyi district – 77 cases,” the mayor said.
According to Klitschko, 1,015 people recovered in a day. In total, 49 thousand 088 residents of the capital overcame the coronavirus.
