Orange Business Services announced that it will modernize IT infrastructure and deploy SD-WAN for one of Europe’s largest banks, BNP Paribas. The network will unite 1.8 thousand bank branches in France.
A flexible solution will accelerate the digital transformation of the bank and expand the possibilities for launching new services.
Software defined wide area network (SD-WAN) technology allows administrators to remotely monitor infrastructure performance, identify potential congestion hazards, and programmatically change traffic routing policies in real time. Dynamic reallocation of network resources optimizes application performance: client services will run more consistently and reliably.
By deploying Flexible SD-WAN from Orange Business Services, BNP Paribas will be able to take full advantage of a fully secure hybrid network that was designed as a cloud-based, multi-tenant, multi-service solution. Through the use of optimized and centralized management and intelligent routing, BNP Paribas‘ French offices will gain additional capabilities on the new infrastructure.
Experts from Orange Business Services and BNP Paribas jointly designed the solution and prioritized the features to be deployed. Each branch of the bank is planned to be connected by two independent channels; in total, it is planned to deploy more than 3.6 thousand Internet access lines. Moreover, the modernization of the network will be carried out in such a way that the business processes of the bank are not interrupted, and during the entire migration to the new infrastructure, each branch worked without interruption. In addition, the project involves the introduction of firewalls to improve security.
