With the onset of frost and cold, the quality of our skin is somewhat “spoiled” and dry. The main reason for this phenomenon is a violation of the lipid layer in the epidermis. It creates a barrier function for the skin. Accordingly, with improper care, the lipid barrier is destroyed, causing a number of uncomfortable conditions for us from the skin. Thus, the skin becomes sensitive and dehydrated, the processes of collagen formation are disrupted. Therefore, we will discuss in more detail what changes should be made for skin care in winter.

Our hands already suffer enough from the use of antiseptics, and with the onset of cold weather, the negative impact on the skin of the hands is doubled. Therefore, in order to reduce injuries to the skin of the hands in winter, we recommend:
Avoid washing hands with hot water.
Use natural soap (7 to 10 pH).
After each wash, apply a moisturizer, and before going to bed it is better to choose a nourishing cream.
Scrub to remove dead skin cells, masks or paraffin therapy.
Facial
In winter, you need to choose more nutritious products for the face. So in the morning it is advisable to apply a nourishing cream, and at night – moisturizing. That is, we do the opposite of summer care, when we moisturize the skin in the morning and nourish at night.
Particular attention should be paid to cosmetics (masks, creams, serums), which contain vitamin E, which provides a soft oily structure, but is an excellent antioxidant for the skin and vitamin K, which is suitable for skin containing sensitive and dry areas are capable of peeling.
Detergents that have an aggressive effect are best left aside, and choose soft foams marked “for sensitive skin”, as the skin is already adversely affected by extreme cold.
Particular attention should be paid to the skin around the eyes and lips, where it is thinnest and has no sebaceous glands to protect.
Application of funds with SPF in winter
It seems that such a tool should have been postponed until the summer. But in fact, even in winter, we get about 40% of UV radiation and sunlight is reflected from the snow, which causes exposure to the skin.
It is important to remember that SPF products should be used all season, regardless of the season.
In order to choose the right tool, remember how long after being in the sun your skin begins to redden. Then this time is multiplied by the protection factor. The result means a safe time on the street. During frosts, you can use sunscreen with a lower level of SPF. Experts recommend a cream with SPF20 protection.
Hair protection
In winter, our hair needs special care, not only because of the effects of cold temperatures, but also because of the constant wearing of a hat. However, this does not mean that the hat should be neglected. Because in this way the hair is protected from frost, which causes dry scalp. You should pay attention to hats made of natural materials, because through synthetic fabrics hair gets dirty and electrified faster. Also note that under the cap should hide all the hair, not just the roots.
Pay special attention to care, using special nourishing masks. Try to use less hair dryer to avoid excessive drying of the skin and do not forget to apply additional thermal protection.
