White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki stated that US President Joe Biden will have his first telephone conversation with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Jennifer Psaki confirmed the first call during her first briefing with the media, saying the two leaders would discuss bilateral issues, including Biden’s decision to formally revoke the permit needed to build the Keystone XL pipeline.
Earlier today, Trudeau said he was ” disappointed but acknowledges the president’s decision to keep his promises during the election campaign to build the Keystone XL pipeline.”
Before answering questions, Jennifer Psaki told reporters that she deeply respected the role of “a free and independent press in our democracy.” According to CBS News, Psaki vowed to bring truth and transparency to the White House briefing room, “which is a clear reference to her predecessors under President Donald Trump.”
