Hyundai Motor Group is actively working on the development of electric vehicles. Ioniq 5 will appear in public for the first time next week. And the other day Photospies caught a prototype of the electric Genesis.
The Genesis crossover, codenamed JW, was captured in camouflage film by CarPIX reporters. This SUV will be the first electrified Genesis model. Genesis JW dealerships are expected in the second half of 2021.
The photo shows such features of Genesis as separate headlights and taillights. It is known that the model is based on the E-GMP platform. The electric crossover will compete with the Audi Q4 e-Tron, BMW iX1, possibly Tesla 3 / Y, and Polestar 2.
The main feature is the absence of side rear-view mirrors. In this model, they will be replaced by cameras. The Genesis variant will copy the Ioniq 5 specification, so the basic characteristics will be similar. Obviously, the Genesis EV will get a premium cabin and a powerful battery, which should be enough for 500-550 km. mileage without additional charging.
