The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Ruslan Khomchak announced that to undergo training, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be sent to the Krtsanisi military base in Georgia.
Colonel-General Ruslan Khomchak took part in two meetings of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels.
During a working trip to Brussels, Ruslan Khomchak held talks with the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, Commander of the Georgian Defense Forces, Chief of the General Staff of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova – Commander of the National Army of the Republic of Moldova.
The Colonel-General informed his colleagues about the security situation in eastern Ukraine and around the borders, the probable scenario of its development in the short term.
Practical issues of military cooperation were also discussed.
In particular, the issues of military reform, exchange of information, joint participation in multinational exercises, training of our servicemen in training centers of NATO member states and partners were discussed.
Thus, in particular, agreements were reached on the training of Ukrainian soldiers on courses at the NATO-Georgia Joint Training Center at the Krtsanisi military base.
The Armed Forces will also be trained at the Georgian Defense Forces Mountain Training School.
The Georgian military also offered to continue the practice of rehabilitating Ukrainian soldiers in Georgia.
“For my part, I invited the units of our partners to take part in the military parade on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence and the strategic command and staff exercise” Joint Efforts – 2021 ″ “, – says the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Colonel-General added that the discussion in the NATO Military Committee of the security situation in Ukraine and around its borders and the state of reform of our army is planned for May.
By order of the Minister of Defense of Georgia № 125 of April 22, 1997, the National Training Center “Krtsanisi” was established.
In 2016, as a result of the ongoing structural reorganization of the Armed Forces, the Krtsanisi Training and Military Education Support Center was established on the basis of the Krtsanisi National Training Center.
