The Armenian government has submitted an interstate complaint against Azerbaijan to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). The Armenian side accuses Baku of violating a number of conventions during the escalation of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Reportedly, Yerevan insists that during the 44-day war unleashed and in the subsequent period, Baku violated the rights of the inhabitants of Karabakh and Armenia to life, protection from torture and inhuman treatment, inviolability, property, private and family life, education, and a number of others. Right.
“The complaint, among others, raised the issues of protecting the rights of prisoners of war and civilians, the resettled population of Artsakh (self-name of Karabakh, – ed.), Wounded citizens and relatives of the victims, persons who have lost property, representatives of local and international media,” the statement said.
This is the first interstate complaint submitted by Armenia to the ECHR. Together with her, “a large amount of evidence” was provided.
Earlier Armenian Foreign Minister Ara Ayvazyan stated that the conflict with Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh entered a new phase. This phase is that Armenia and the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh need to create a single order of the day.
