American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez continues to work with Netflix. She will star and produce the action movie Mother (The Mother).
Jennifer Lopez will play a female killer who is forced to return to work to protect her daughter, whom she abandoned many years ago. According to Deadline, the film is inspired by Luke Besson’s cult film The Professional.
The authors of the original script were Misha Green (Lovecraft Country) and Andrea Berloff (Voice of the Streets). Netflix is currently in talks with Nika Caro for the position of director of the new film. She is known for such paintings as The Zookeeper’s Wife (2017) and Mulan (2020).
The film Mother is not the first joint work of Jennifer Lopez and Netflix. The actress is stated in the lead role in another movie called The Cipher. It is based on the novel of the same name by Isabella Maldonado. The film tells the story of FBI agent Nina Guerrero, who was involved in the investigation of the case of a serial killer, posted on the Internet complex codes and mysteries about the murders to lure the agent into a trap.
